The Australian Council of Heads of Schools of Social Work is a representative body with the over-arching aim of promoting the development of social work through education, research and active engagement in the policy and practice arena.

The Australian Council of Heads of Schools of Social Work (ACHSSW) provides a national voice for social work in Australia. It has close links with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and the Australian Association of Social Work Educators (AASWE). It is also developing collaborative affiliations with national social work bodies in the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Pacific Rim countries.
